Year 1938

“Kasettrathiraj” Ministry needs serious development, therefore has established “Kasetsart College” to be an organization with formal curriculum and to give freedom in education administration, therefore Department of Cooperative Subject has been developed, which is the three-years program based started in the beginning the year 1939 with the first generation of graduate students in the end of the year 1941 and hence, has been implemented onwards.

Year 1943

Kasetsart University received well recognition and hence, The Department of Cooperative Subject was strengthened to be known as “Cooperative Major”, which was considered to be the first generation major. The major has opened up for diploma level until the year 1952 with the 18 Diploma Graduates in the year 1953. The major is divided into four education areas which are Cooperative-Accounting, Cooperative-Economics, Cooperative-Social Science and Cooperative-Law.

Year 1956

according to the announcement made by “Rajkijjanubeksa” or “Gazette” on 15 May 1956, the major has changed its name to be “Cooperative-Economics Major”

Year 1966

in the year 1966, the major has changed its name for the third time to be “Economics and Business Administration Major”

Year 1992

according to the announcement made by “Rajkijjanubeksa” or “Gazette” no. 109, chapeter 120 dated 18 December 1992, the existing major has been divided into two new majors namely “Economics Major” and “Business Administration Major” in order to be consistent with Economy Development Plan and National Society no.7

At Present

Faculty of Business Administration is operated with five major Departments, one Bureau, and nine Part-time Projects as followings:

Bureau of Secretary Administration, Department of Finance, Department of Accounting, Department of Finance, Department of Production Management , Department of Management, Project of Bachelor program in Business Administration (Full-time Program), Project of Bachelor Degree in Faculty of Accounting (Special Sector), Project of Bachelor Program in Faculty of Business Administration.

History of KBS

In the year 1992, the department has been separated from Economics Major which is then known as
“Business Administration Major”

which is one of the tenth existing majors of Kasetsart University accordingly to the book named “Rajkijjanubeksa” no. 109, chapter 120 dated 18 December 1992. This in accordance with the Education Development Plan for High Education level no.7 (year 1992-1999) has come into enforcement with 5 divided faculties listed below

Department of Finance, Department of Management, Department of Accounting, Department of Marketing, Department of Product Management

Department of Business Administration has responsibility to develop both undergraduate and graduate students in terms of curriculums management, researches, academic services and other cultural preservation techniques. This has been implemented from the past until present time with the details given below

Before the year 1938, Cooperative Department under “Kasettrathikan” Ministry has organized the training that focused on business administration in cooperative manner for example, the philosophy of cooperative business, accounting and general administration, etc.
